As part of fulfilling our mission and vision, EYF encourages members of the club and it’s volunteers to embark on Community Engagement Programs and Activities - CEPA. This is meant to instill in EYF members, the heart to volunteer, solve problems and actively use the skills and knowledge acquired in EYF to bring about community transformation. All of these activities will be linked to the Sustainable Development Goals - SDGs and making godly impact. The activities can be as follows, but not limited to these:
EYF members running vacation schools for primary and Junior High students in communities, to increase literacy and numeracy of students.
These classes will run for 3 to 6 weeks. In addition, there will be other engagements with these students daily. The idea is to have 15 hours/week with them (5 hours for literacy, 5 for numeracy and 5 for personal development).
This will be led by stakeholders (teachers), EYF volunteers and EYF Club members.
1. The Gospel Engagement form; Outreach and discipleship for the members of the community both youth and adult.
2. The Community Education and Development form; where members of the community are educated on any subject involving the SDGs or matters affecting the SDGs.
The ACED program will be undertak-en by the EYF volunteers and member, and will involve other stakeholders as well. The forms will not happen at the same time.
These are projects that will be done in the community to help it achieve or attain the fulfillment of one or more SDGs.
These projects will be done with the community members with support from other community stakeholders. EYF and its partners will be lead supporters and facilitators of the project.
Projects will be carried out using the Collective Impact Approach.
